To use Remote Connection Desktop from a Non-NPG network the following needs to be set up:
- OpenVPN Installed on a home computer
- Work Computer Name and IP information
- The computer needing to be accessed hast o be set up not to go to sleep or turn off.
- Account permission: Remote Desktop User
** Contact the Service Desk to ensure all of these requirements are met
How to use Remote Desktop Connection:
1. Click on the OpenVPN to login and start the VPN connection. See the guide below on how to connect to OpenVPN.

2. After the VPN is connected, click on the Windows Icon in the bottom left corner and search for "Remote Desktop Connection" and open the program.
3. When the pop-up for Remote Desktop Connection opens, enter the computer name that is needing to be accessed.
(If you do not know the name of your computer or the computer IP, then please contact the IT department.)
If this does not work, enter the IP of your computer in the computer field.
4. In the Windows Security Window, Select more choices, then click on "More Choices."
5. Enter the credentials that you use to log into your office computer.
6. Click Okay
7. If there are no connection or login issues, the program should run and open up access to your computer desktop.
8. To end the remote access, you can take your mouse to the top of the screen and click on the X to disconnect.
