Note 1: A license is required per user which approximately $45. If you are wanting to use this application for business use you will need to get approval from there manager and IT will purchase a license for you as part of the process in Step A below.
Note 2: If you are using the softphone outside of the office you will need to have a VPN solution installed and setup for it to function. If you have a VPN solution setup already ensure you are connected to it prior to using the softphone. If you do not have a VPN solution setup then create a Zendesk ticket so the Service Desk can help you get one installed and configured for you.
A. Create a Network Team ticket in Zendesk
- The Network Team will need to configure a line and username for you in the phone system. Once this is completed we will provide you with the configuration information that you will need to complete the setup.
B. Install ZoiPer
- Download Zoiper at https://www.zoiper.com/en/voip-softphone/download/current
- Install the by double clicking the downloaded file to start the setup
C. Configure ZoiPer
- Type the username and password information into the field and click "Login". The username and password is assign by the Network Team and will be provided to you in the Zendesk ticket that you created in Step A.
- Enter the domain as npg-stjo-astsip-svr1.npgco.com:5060 and click "Next".
- If the "SIP UDP" is showing "Found" in green then everything is working as it should. If not, then check the setting used in prior steps or contact IT to have them check the settings on the phone server to ensure they are correct.
- Lastly you will need to change a few default settings in the ZoiPer application. To get to the setting click on the gear in the upper right hand side of the screen. First, uncheck the "Use STUN" option and then uncheck the "Enable Google Analytics"
- Uncheck "Open random port above 32000" and check "Open random port above 32000"
D. You are now ready to use ZoiPer and you should be able to send and receive calls.
