9-19-17 - Service Impairment - St. Joseph - All VPN Tunnels

Description

VPN connections experienced up to 30% packet loss during event.  Packet loss was less than 10% up until 11am when it increased for some locations.  Found that a server was utilizing our full bandwidth capacity.  

Services Affected

Wide orbit issues were reported during this issue.

Sites Affected

All Broadcast locations were experiencing some traffic loss up to 30%

Time Affected

9:20am to 12:40pm Central

Resolution

Determined which server was causing the issue and reconfigured it to a lower limit.  Also placed an overall limiter in place to help keep other servers from being able to do this in the future.
